California Labor Code section 2802 requires employers to “indemnify” an employee for all necessary losses or expenditures incurred from the direct consequence of his or her duties or obedience to the directions of the employer.
Where an employer does not reimburse employees for such expenses as parking fees, toll charges, mileage, phone charges, and numerous other charges, it may be held to have violated section 2802.
